August ‘21 Newsletter

For the past three weeks, I’ve been taking a course called Business Builder Breakthrough, offered by Jay Fiset, founder of JVology.  The course delves into 10 pillars of successful businesses as well as the mindset needed for business owners to be successful.

While I’ve heard and read a lot about limiting beliefs and how they can restrict one’s success, I hadn’t fully bought into their effect until this course.  One of the principals we were taught was embodied in the following quote:  “It is exactly my intention to have the results that I have.  How do I know?  Because that’s what I have.”  Our results flow from our intentions, which flow from our beliefs, attitudes and behaviors.  The good news is that if we are not happy with our results, we can change them by changing our beliefs, attitudes and behaviors.

The first step is to identify those beliefs, attitudes and behaviors that we have about our current results, and then identify the beliefs, attitudes and behaviors that we need to have to attain the results we desire.  For instance, we may believe we have to do everything ourselves; but if we shift that belief to one that allows us to seek support from others, we will be better able to attain the results we want. It may sound easy, but it’s a lot harder than it looks.  If you aren’t getting the results you desire, it’s worth giving this a shot.  I hope it works for you.

2. Fastrack Your Book:  Write Your Book in Six Weeks!

If you are stuck writing your book, or have been thinking of writing a book but need assistance, the Fastrack Your Book program could be exactly what you need to get your book done.  Here is what some of the participants in the program have said about it:

I am in awe of how much I was able to accomplish as a result of Judy’s course. I couldn’t have done this without her expert guidance. She provided me with a framework to vet my idea, do the research, create my outline and start writing. I of course still had to put in all the work that comes along with writing a book, but I was positioned for success and given the accountability that I needed to get it done. I never thought I would get this far! The group format was extremely beneficial as well. We were able to work together and learn from each other.

— Jane Meserole

I’ve failed at writing a book four times so far. Not this time. Working with Judy and her Fastrack Program is just the magic combination I need of structure, accountability, and creativity. Judy knows the path and teaches it well. More, she knows where the rabbit holes and side trails are and can help you avoid them. The result of working with her was (at least for me) clearer purpose, tighter outline, better understanding of the process, and a faster finish.

— Mike Wittenstein

I’ve always thought that one day I would write a book but never gave it serious thought.  That is, until I met Judy.  I agreed to a one on one conversation and the insightful questions she asked started a very productive and enlightening conversation.  I started to believe in myself and my topic(s) and that she had a clear path to success that would make the journey much easier.  I participated in the weekly meetings and the writing weekend and am now farther than I ever thought possible.  The clear direction and purpose that she’s helped me create are motivating me to commit to completing the book in an ongoing plan.  I highly recommend Judy, Skill Bites and her Fast Track Your Book program.

4.  Tip of the Month:  Amazon’s New Book Marketing Tool

Last month, Amazon added a new marketing tool to the KDP interface called A+ Content.¹  This is a feature that you can put on your book’s Amazon Product detail page which will help enhance the book listing. The feature allows you (the author/publisher) to add images, pictures of your interior, sales copy mentioning the benefits of your book, endorsements and or quotes from influencers and comparison tables to engage readers, add credibility and social proof and give purchasers more information as they consider buying your book.  This feature shows up below the “From the Publisher” section.

To start creating A+ content, go to your KDP dashboard, click on your (live or pre-order) book, and scroll over to the “…”, and click on “Promote and advertise” in the drop down menu.

Here are some examples of how A+ Content is used with Business Books:
